Great Lakes Communication Company (GLCC) is a corporation formed under the Laws of the State of Michigan. With continuous operation since 1967, GLCC has become a highly diversified telecommunication consulting and service firm. During this time we have maintained a policy of updating our technological expertise with personnel either previously experienced, or with the aptitude and ability to be trained efficiently in the fast paced, ever changing world of telecommunications.

Allen C. Horak, President and Director of Installation
Al started his career in 1955 with Union Telephone Company as a Cable Splicer's Helper. UTC ultimately merged with GTE of Michigan in 1958. After 10 years with GTE Al attended DeVry Technical Institute and earned the equivalent of a BA in Electronic Engineering with a Ships Radar Endorsement and a General FCC Certificate. Al returned to GTE for several more years and in 1968 joined GLCC.
W. Rex Skea, Operating Vice President and Treasurer
Rex started with North Electric Company of Galion, Ohio in 1955. In 1962 Rex went to work for Continental Telephone Company of Michigan and remained there until he founded GLCC in 1967. Rex handles corporate adminstration, service expansion and marketing for GLCC.
STAFFING
GLCC employs between 15 and 25 engineering and field installation personnel depending upon workload.
DRUG TESTING
All personnel are required to have physicals and pass drug screening as part of their orientation.
TRAINING
GLCC provides on-going installation training to all field personnel at our corporate office and training facility in Crystal, Michigan. Training includes course studies as well as hands on work.
TOOLS
All personnel supply their own hand tools. Larger equipment like power lug crimpers and hammer drills are supplied by GLCC.
